My boyfriend and I chose Amotravel for a two-week tour in Vietnam and Cambodia, trusting only the reviews we found above … and we did better !!! More reliable agency: always present for any needs as well as asking you if all is well! Friendly and kind people .. starting from Ngoc who took care of organizing our on-line trip to end up with the various guides we had in both countries !!

As for the trip we are very sastified…we visited tourist places but whenever possible they could only find us for the corners of paradise !!

The hotels chosen are delightful and central, all at a great value for money !!

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 01.Sun.24/01: Welcome to Hanoi (-/-/-)

Fly to Hanoi. Upon arrival to the airport, you well be met by our guide and transfer to you hotel. Free dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02.Mon.25/01: Hanoi Hidden Hanoi Biking – StreetFood (B/-/D)

Amo Travel wants to introduce you a special product called “Hanoi Hidden Biking” and created by three young people in Hanoi to show you all things that are not a normal tourist.

Ride your bike with Mr.Lam in Ngoc Ha Flower Village, seeing a bite of the B52 bomber, tasting Vietnamese coffee on the shore of the West Lake or in the typical house “Tubo House”

He will tell you the story of his family who lives in the city for at least 300 years, from the past millennium of Hanoi City to the contemporary history of the city.

Finally refresh with Bia Hoi.

In the afternoon: StreetFood Tour

A tour of the discovery of Hanoi street foods – the first step to Vietnam’s colorful gourmet culture.

This is one of the well-known Amovietnam Travel products.

Finish the tour with the show of Marionettes on the water.

Day 03.Tue.26/01: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Hanoi (B/-/-)

Often referred to as “Inland Ha Long Bay ”, the area of Tam Coc and Hoa Lu is characterised by the limestone geology that gives rise to the towering karsts that make this picturesque area so unique. On this enjoyable day trip, the atmosphere is relaxed as you casually pedal and paddle your way past green rice fields, along waterways and through underground passages.

8.00 AM leave Hanoi by coach to Hoa Lu (2.5 hrs). Visit the historic capital of Viet Nam and the famous ancient temples of Le and The Dinh Dynasties. Bus transfer or cycle for an hour on picturesque quiet roads through villages, rice fields, rivers and rocky outcrops to Tam Coc (12km) for lunch. 
Boat trip to visit TamCoc to see the beauty of the karst formations as you pass along their base and row into one of the many caves carved through the limestone. Dive back to Ha Noi. Tour ends around 6pm.

Day 04.Wed.27/01: Hanoi – Halong (B/L/D)

Pick up at your hotel in Ha Noi or nearby by shuttle bus (mini van).

Embark at Hon Gai International harbor. Embark on the boat. Enjoy welcome drink as Cruise Manager gives you a brief overview of the itinerary and important safety guideline. Check in your cabin.

Visit and explore the well-hidden Sung Sot Cave.

Return to the boat and enjoy Happy hour. You will have 30% discount off from the special menu drinks including of cocktail, mock-tail and mixed drinks (from 16.30 pm to 19.00 pm.). 

Dinner is served in the restaurant. You can enjoy the charm of Bai Tu Long Bay at night.

Enjoy evening activities (Squid Fishing, Movie Night, Board Games, Massage & Spa services) or relax at the leisure then overnight at private cabin.

Day 05.Thur.28/01: Halong – Hanoi – Hue (B/L/-)

Welcome a new day with an amazing dawn on Bai Tu Long Bay. Refresh your body and soul with a Tai-chi session on the sundeck.

Catch the morning view of seascape while enjoying the breakfast with cookies and tea, café in the restaurant.

Pick up the luggage and check out of the cabin.

Enjoy the brunch in the restaurant while cruising back to Vinashin tourist harbor.

Disembark from boat.

Your driver takes you back to Noi Bai airport for flight to Hue.

Upon arrival you are welcome by driver and transfer to hotel. Overnight in hotel.

Day 06.Fri.29/01: Hue visit (B/-/-)

The Hue Citadel is situated on the Northern bank of the Perfume River. It covers an area 500 ha and has a system of three circles of ramparts: Kinh Thanh Hue (Hue Capital Citadel), Hoang Thanh (Royal Citadel) and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden Citadel). The Hue royal complex has been officially recognized by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

In the morning, enjoy a scenic boat trip on the Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda or Heavenly Lady pagoda, one of the oldest ancient architectural structures for religious worship in Hue. Situated 4 km upstream on the banks of the Perfume River, it is an active Buddhist monastery with its origins dating back to 1601.

Visit the Imperial Citadel of Hue with the Purple Forbidden City.

Lunch at a local restaurant then transfer to Tu Duc Royal Tomb and Minh Mang Royal Tomb, the Emperor of the Imperial City built his own tomb during his reign and today you will visit one of the most beautiful mausoleums and Tu Hieu Pagoda.

Free dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 07.Sat.30/01: Hue – Danang – Hoi An (B/-/-)

Morning transfer to Hoi An.

Stop to visit the pass of Hai Van (Cloud Pass) where the sky, the mountain and the sea reach. Visit the Sculpture Village under Marble Mountain and the Champa Museum.

Arrival in Hoi An. Start discovering the city.

We take a walking tour through the narrow streets, visiting a number of attractions in town: the PhucKien Assembly Hall, the Chua Ong Pagoda, the Japanese Covered Bridge, the hundred-year old merchant house … and colorful local markets. Hoi An is also famous for its large number of tailor shops, so if you want to have a new wardrobe made up, this is the time to do it.

Day 08. Sun.31/01: Hoi An –Cooking class at Tra Que village – Hoian visit – Danang – Flight to Saigon(B/L/- )

Morning depart for Tra Que village (5km) for the discovery of the rural life that takes place there.  Arriving at a family in Tra Que you will have the chance to refresh yourself before starting the cooking class. We work together with our Family Chef to learn to cook the best traditional Vietnamese specials.. Have lunch with your family then enjoy foot massage.

Your driver takes you back to Danang airport for flight to Sai Gon.

Upon arrival you are welcome by driver and transfer to hotel. Overnight in hotel.

Day 09. Mon.01/02: Saigon – Ben Tre – Can Tho (B/L/-)

After breakfast, transfer to Mekong Delta – considered the “rice paddle of Vietnam”. Come to My Tho town to visit  Temple of Caodaism, a religion founded in Vietnam in 1925 that combines Confucianism, Taosimo and Buddhism.

Cross the Rach Mieu Bridge, the longest in South Vietnam. Arrive in Ben Tre where you board for an excursion on the Ben Tre River – one of the main tributaries of the Mekong River.

During the journey you have the opportunity to admire the lively local activities, the fishing along the river, the functionality of the irrigation channels … Stop in a furnace of Mr. Tu Lo to observe traditional brickwork in molds and baking. Visit, along the canal, of one of the many coconuts processing workshops. Stop by a family for tea and fruit in place. With a taxi ride (Xe Loi) or a bike ride we go through local nature: groves, fields of green rice paddies and verdure cultures, a real approach to local farming life. Lunch  at the local restaurant.

With private car transfer from Vinh Long to Can Tho. Free dinner and  overnight stay at hotel.

Day 10.Tue.02/02:  Can Tho – Cai Rang Market – Chau Doc (B/-/-)  

Take a 3-hour boat trip to discover the beautiful Cai Rang Floating Market and its surroundings. Visit a vermicelli making shop, a rice husking mill, fruit gardens. Enjoy tropical fruit (free). See the peaceful life the rural area. Have lunch before going to Chau Doc. In the rest of the day, if time is permitted we will take the orientation walk around hotel area and boat trip to visit Tra Su Traun Forest as well as Chua Xu Pagoda and Temple of Thoai Ngoc Hau.

Overnight in hotel.

Day 11. Wed.03/02: Chau Doc – Phnom Penh (B/-/-)

In the early morning transfer to the river pier and departure along the Mekong to Phnom Penh. Approximately half way, individual Cambodian customs formalities. Arrival in Phnom Penh, landing and meeting with local guide for hotel transfer. Free lunch. The best-preserved Cambodian colonial architecture is located around the Victory Monument, where you can admire elegant Art Dèco villas along the boulevards traced by the French. In the afternoon visit the National Museum, built around 1918 and entirely dedicated to Khmer art. At the big Russian market you can find local crafts.

Accommodation and overnight in hotels in Phnom Penh.

Day 12.Thur.04/02: Phnom Penh – Kompong Thom – Siem Reap (B /-/-) by private car with guide

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit the Toul Sleng or S21 Museum and Choeung Ek – The Killing Field tells us the darkest period in Cambodian history.

Subsequently, transfer to Siem Reap. Along the road stop in a kind of service station, Skun Market, where women sell insects, frogs and fried spiders of various sizes. Lunch break at the Kompong Thom restaurant and continue the journey of the ancient Khmer “Real Way” and crossing a majestic bridge, Spean Praptos, brick and sandstone built by Jayavarman VII eight centuries ago. Arrival in Siem Reap in the late afternoon and hotel accommodation.

Day 13.Fri.05/02: Siem Reap – Small Circuit (Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Prei Khan) (B /-/-)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Wake up early and take a “tuk-tuk” tour to visit the jungle-intertwined temple, Ta Prohm. Dawn is one of the most beautiful and emotional moments to visit the temples, whose ancient sandstone blocks are gold-plated in the morning rays. Go back to the hotel for breakfast and continue the tour of the day.

Visit Angkor Thom (the great city), the famous Bayon Temple of the XII and XIII Century, devoted to Buddhism. Continuing with the terrace of King Lebanon, built in the 12th century, representing the various sculptures of apsaras … and Phimean Akas, Baphuon, Elephant Terazzo..

Lunch at local restaurant then visita Prei khan Temple, built by Jayavarman VII in 1191 in honor of his father who is represented as the savage god of Buddhism Mayahanista. The temple was originally a true city and a place dedicated to Buddhist studies.

In the afternoon you will discover the wonderful temple of Angkor Wat, a world heritage site of humanity built in the 12th century (1112-1152) in honor of Vishnu covering an area of ​​200 hectares surrounded by the canal and the wall of 1300m x 1500m.

In the late afternoon, you can admire the sunset over the Bakeng Hill

Day 14.Sat.06/02: Siem Reap Small Circuit(Ta Prohm, Banteay Kdei, Sras Srang) – Banteay Srey – Banteay Samre (B/-/-)

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning, a visit to the magnificent temple of Banteay Srei built in red sandstone and the Banteay Samre temple in rococo sandstone will allow you to observe the evolution of Khmer architecture and art between the several centuries. Free lunch.

Pause for lunch at local restaurant and visit Ta Prohm, the great Buddhist monastery that Jayavarman VII consecrated in 1186 and where it was found: gigantic trees emerge between the intricacy of sanctuary towers, huge roots wrap the galleries, thick shrubs sprout from the roofs of every building and the visitor can no longer distinguish man’s work from the creations of nature.

Near Ta Prohm, we can also see the artificial logo Saras Srang where the Khmer celebrate the New Year’s gala boat and the Banteay Kdei temple. You can enjoy the sunset again in the temple of Pre Rup.

We will begin this morning’s journey at 5:00 pm, you can enjoy the dawn and sounds of awakened animals. This is the boat ride from Siem Reap with a visit to the floating fishing villages on Lake Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia. The whole day is dedicated to flora and fauna, bird watching in Bird Sanctuary, the largest bird sanctuary in South East Asia. Lunch served at local restaurant. Before returning to Siem Reap, we visit Kampong Khleang floating village. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

Note: Prek Toal is not accessible by boat from April to October of the year because of the low water level, so visiting is not recommended during this time.

Day 17.Tue.09/02: Siem Reap- Flight to Phnompenh – Departure (B/-/-) Italian speaking guide Breakfast at the hotel.

Free time before transfer to the airport for the flight to Phnompenh. Waiting for the departure flight.
