In the morning return to Hoa Binh and visit a H’Mong village, located in the hills adjacent to the city. So continue south-east for Ninh Binh, crossing perhaps the most spectacular scenery in northern Vietnam: green rice fields, surrounded by tall karst hills covered with vegetation, intense colors, unmarked agricultural villages for centuries. Here is a good part of the western collective imagination on Vietnam.
Arrival to Van Long for lunch and cruise (2 hours) by Sampa boat in Tam Coc. Continue for Ninh Binh, arrival in the evening and accommodation at hotel.
Day 8: Ninh Binh – Hanoi (B/L/-)
Breakfast at the hotel.
On the morning view of the Catholic Cathedral of Phat Diem, the most important of northern Vietnam. Built between 1879 and 1899 by Father Tran Luoc (named) Father Sei, according to a typical Vietnamese custom that replaces the name with a number) in an absolutely unique stalk, in which elements of Chinese temple architecture blend with other Catholics and of Dinosaurs. Syncretism finds one of its greatest expressions in the portal, where the symbols of good fortune Vietnamese are alongside the statues of angels, saints, and episodes of Christ’s life.
Ninh Binh returns to lunch and visit Hoa Lu (visit the two dynastic temples), where two of the first emperors Viet, Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Danh Hanh are buried. Built in the first decades after 1,000 and restored under the Nguyen Dynasty, temples strike for their sobriety, far away from Hué’s mausoleum pump.
